The Fabulous Dip
Everyone seems to like this so I am sharing the secret.
Dad's Famous Cheese Dip
2 lb Velveeta cheese
1 lb meat (ground beef, venison, or if you live in our apartment - elk)
1 15oz can of chili without beans (Wolf brand is good, but anything will do)
1 can Rotel tomatoes & peppers
1/2 can Heinz chili sauce (tastes like cocktail sauce and that's where they shelve it in the store)
Onion
Bell pepper
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Salt
Put the cheese in a crock pot to melt.
Brown the meat with the bell pepper and onion.
When the cheese is melted, add the chili, tomatoes, chili sauce, and spices. Stir in the meat. Let it heat until all the ingredients get comfortable with each other. Eat with corn chips or with a spoon.
This makes enough for a party and is meaty enough for a meal. It keeps a long time and reheats well. Perfect for poor college students.
